Martha's 1st Birthday

It's killing me! I have so much to post from Morgan's first birthday party and our trip to Ruidoso last week. My camera died in a freak counter diving accident and I left Dan's camera in New Mexico. So, I'll have to wait for dad to bring Dan's camera to retrieve the photos. My new camera is arriving via Fed Ex sometime today... yea!

So, to tide myself over, I'm posting a page from my baby album. How fancy! I had silver at my first birthday party. Enjoy!

Morgan made it ONE YEAR!

Tomorrow with be Morgan's first birthday. I can't believe how quickly this year has gone by. This time last year I had no idea that tomorrow would be the big day. Morgan was born on a Wednesday. I went into the doctor for my 38 week checkup and she told me that I was already in labor. I went straight to a labor and delivery room. As many of you know, I've had paper cuts and stubbed toes that hurt worse than childbirth. So, I won't ever be able to use the pain excuse with Morgan.

In honor of turning one year old, here are 12 things that I never want to forget about you at this precious stage.

1. I love your "o" face

2. I love the way that you make a bee line for your Cheerios (or "baby crack" as I refer to it) first thing in the morning. I hide them behind a trap door in your play table and you open and close it each time to get to the o's

3. I love the way you splash water all over me and the entire bathroom from a simple bath. You are fascinated with the water coming out of the faucet.

4. I love how confident you are. I can pass you over to a new person or leave you in the gym kid center and know that you are not going to cry.

5. I love how friendly you are. You always crawl right over to the other kiddos and want to play.

6. I love watching you try to imitate the older kids (i.e. Darby). It's hilarious. You are a really quick crawler.

7. I love how the black blankie makes everything all better.

8. I love that you are a thumb sucker. You can't lose a thumb... unlike your pacifier buddies.

9. I love your "beer" gut and your double chin. Daddy claims it's from his side.

10. I love your expression when I'm taking a shower. This is most likely the only time in my life that I would feel comfortable with a little man plastered up against the shower door yelling ma ma ma ma ma ma!

11. I love it that you haven't talked back to me.... yet

12. Most of all I love that God choose us to be your parents. We are so honored that your precious little life is in our hands, and we promise to do the best we can for you.

Happy Birthday Morgan!

Our Trip to Denver for Jessica's Baby Shower

We flew to Denver this past weekend for Jessica's baby shower. Friday night Wendy came over to Mary's house for a slumber party. But, it was the most exhausting slumber party ever! We had 5 kids under the age of 4 and us three girls. Mom was in rough shape the next day.

Morgan had a GREAT time playing with your cousin's Darby and Bret. Darby is 4 right now. Morgan just wants to do everything that Darby does. We gated off the kitchen. Darby would run over and shake the gate. Then, Morgan would quickly follow behind. Bret is an AMAZING baby. He never cries... ever. He is perfectly happy in his exersaucer. Morgan screamed for the first 4 months of his life. He certainly wouldn't just let me put him down in an exersaucer.

The baby shower was so wonderful. Mary and I drove with the kids up to Fort Collins (or close to there). Jonathan's mom threw a couple's shower for Jessica and Jonathan. Jessica looked fabulous and her entire outfit matched down to her cute little purse. I looked like a cow when I was preggers. There were about 10 kiddos there. So, Morgan, Darby and Bret had plenty to keep them entertained.

We also saw my cousins Leslie and Mark and their two kiddos Joey and Luke. This weekend I realized that my cousin Leslie married a Mark, her sister married a John and my sister married at Matt. It would have been a complete gospel had Dan's name been Luke... ha!

The weather was amazing until Sunday night. It snowed like crazy. This picture is part of my sister's back yard. The kids have a turbo play set.

I'd like to say that you were the perfect baby on the flight back but I'd be a big liar! Yes, you were "THAT" baby.

Going Bonkers!

We took the kiddos to Going Bonkers on Tuesday. www.goingbonkers.com It's a new play center in town.
Here's Morgan with his little girlfriend Sarah. There were about 15 moms in our group. It was wild! ... as always of course!

At the Park with Our Home Group

We've recently joined a new home group with our church, The Village Church. It's a small group of about 7 people. We meet up each Sunday. This Sunday we took the kiddos to the park. Morgan drove his new car.
