Morgan's First Shower

Morgan had his first shower today, and he was a total rock star! He was a slippery little fellow. I had to sit down to soap him up. He loved the shower. I wanted to make sure that he got a good "cleaning" because he now constantly has drool coming out of his mouth. It's been like this for the past two weeks. Reni said that it means teeth are on the way!

He is also on the brink of laughing. Today he made a crazy sounding squeal that was ALMOST a laugh. He looked very shocked right after he did it.

He's becoming so much more alert. I had him in his stroller in the dining room and went back to the back of the house to get something. I came back to the dining room (I guess too quickly) and totally freaked him out. He actually did a started jump. So, I'm happy to report that his reflexes are working!

This past Monday a bunch of us new mommies met at Becky's house (see photo). Morgan was the only boy with 4 beautiful girl babies. We joked that Morgan could have a different girlfriend each day of the week! Tomorrow we are going the park with the mommies group from church.

I think that I'm the crazy lady on my block that walks her kids and dogs. Bali, my pomeranian, is only about 3 pounds and not really a walker. So, I put her in the basket of the stroller, strap Madie, my Bichon, to the side of the stroller... and off we go! I of course am always on the cell phone and my dogs bark at everyone that passes me. So, I'm the nut on the cell phone screaming at my dogs to shut up.

Dan is really enjoying his new job. He was torn and sad to leave Sewell but now he gets home before 7pm versus after 8:30 or 9pm. So, Morgan and I are happy to spend more family time with him!

I want to thank all of our friends for your concern and phone calls this past week. We are doing fine. For those of you that I haven't talked to, we were in a car wreck last Sunday evening. Dan and I were heading back from the ranch. We were driving on the highway (speed limit is 70). A man fell asleep at the wheel crossed into oncoming traffic and drove head on at us He drove us off the road, hit us at 70 mph and spun us into a ditch. We are alive and I thank God for that. It really could have turned out very badly. I was in the back seat with Morgan and Dan was driving. I really think that God had His protection over us today. We’re a little sore and beat up, but alive and ok. I think that it is a miracle that we walked away. I just remember seeing him coming straight for us, screaming and throwing myself over the car seat. Dan said that he could see the old man slumped over. We think that the man had his cruise control on because his truck never even slowed down. His truck ended up about 80 yards away from us in a field against a fence. He staggered out of his truck and was all bloody. The air bag saved his life. My Navigator is beat up yet fixable. It's just a car. I'm grateful that I drive a tank. I don't think that I can ever go back to a car. Driving a SUV really protected us.

Dan and I really realized how fragile life is. We love you all!
