My poor bee bee Morgan! He's still sick. He's been sick since Sunday. We're hopeful that this clears up before the holidays. Dan and I got our first dose of what many parents talk about when they have sick kiddos. Last night Morgan woke up screaming. He was in pain and there really nothing that we could do. I tried for over an hour to just hold him and make things better for him but nothing would work. At this point I'd been awake for 22 hours because I just couldn't sleep the night before. I decided to bring Morgan in bed with us. I laid him on top of me and that's when the vomiting began. That poor baby just kept throwing up over and over (on me). He was so scared. The incident sent him into another crying spell. We were finally able to get him calmed down an hour later.
I've had 3 friends tell me about the B.R.A.T. diet. They say that it's good to do when kiddos are vomiting or have the "cha chas". Banana, Rice, Applesauce & Toast.
I took him to the doctor this afternoon. Morgan weighs 20 lbs 4 oz. She said that he has a virus and should be well for Christmas. Evidently a virus is only contagious through contact. You can't just get it from being in the same room. You'd have to touch Morgan and then stick your hands in your mouth... or something to that effect. She said that it an adult got it... they'd most likely only be sick for a half day or so. So, to all you moms out there - just wash your hands and you'll be fine. But, I'm going to continue to bow out of all of our fun mom playgroups until after Christmas. This would for sure make all the other kiddos sick. They put EVERYTHING in their mouth. As for dehydration, she said that an infant needs 10 oz of liquid a day to avoid dehydration with a fever and 15 oz a day to avoid dehydration without a fever. Another fun gross baby fact: diarrhea in babies (or the cha chas, as I so lovingly refer to it) typically lasts for two weeks. One week down, one week to go! Yea!
This photo is from a few months ago. Christi would know the exact date. Morgan is on his first swing ride with Wyatt! We are at Central Park. That's Wyatt's mom Christi in the photo.
