Six Flags - Holiday in the Park

We took the kiddos to Holiday in the Park at Six Flags. Thank you Amy & Matt for the tickets! We had a fabulous time eating our way from one side of the park to the other. Dan had a fried chocolate twinkie. I didn't know that there was such a thing!

The park was packed. I've never seen it that busy in my life. There were a lot of people watching opportunities... ummm.... all I can say is WOW! Forget the airport. If you really want to get an eye full... go to Six Flags.

Morgan loved the light show. They have Christmas lights set to music. It's a lot like that amazing light show on that crazy house that everyone started emailing a few years ago. He was all bundled up in his stroller with 3 blankets.
Christi dressed Wyatt in his Red Wings track suit and Morgan wore his Stars track suit. Morgan had a static problem in his hair... ha!

Sally Anne & Mandy in Town

Sally Anne & Mandy came to the house for a family coffee/tea this afternoon. Hillary, John, Anne & my mom were also able to make it. It was good to catch up. It's so rare that we get to see them! Sally Anne is a curator for a private collector while Tom is finishing up law school Mandy is settled into her new home and marriage while Kalim is just fresh out of law school. Chris stopped by the house also. He is crutch free after taking that nasty spill off the ladder a few months back.

Morgan is now cruising full speed ahead! For those of you who don't know what cruising is.... Cruising is where the little ones grab on to a sofa, coffee table or whatever they can get their hands on and walk with support. It's pretty amazing. I never thought that Morgan was going to crawl and then two days later he's all over the place. He hasn't learned speed yet. He takes his time. But, who knows what will come next.

Tonight we are going over to Scott and Christi's. Thanks for the Omaha Steaks and Hamburgers Dad! We are bringing the hamburger meat for tonight. Yummy. I've always given it as a gift. But, I've never had the opportunity to taste it myself. So, I'm looking forward to a yummy burger tonight.

Amy & Matt were so generous to give us Holiday in the Park tickets. So, Dan, Christi, Scott and I are going to take the kiddos this weekend.

Christmas Day - NEWS FLASH!!! Morgan Crawls!

Merry Christmas! Morgan gave us the best gift today! He full-on crawled. He's been scooching all over the place for about a month. But, today, he crawled across the room. We were so shocked. My mom, Dan and myself all saw it at the same time. It couldn't have been a more perfect situation. I'll post a video later.

Isn't this ornament hilarious! It's the leg-o-lamp from A Christmas Story. My mom came over to our house for Christmas day. She brought all of the food. I didn't have to do a thing!
Morgan loved opening (eating) his presents. He really made out like a bandit this year. All of the grandparents and great-grandparents sent wonderful gifts!
Dan gave Morgan this play yard. I can't wait to get all the other little kiddos in there too!
What a cutie!
Delicious!
Grandma Marie sent a t-shirt from Michigan. Too cute! I'm sure that Scott & Christi will want to "borrow" for Wyatt.
This picture is hilarious. He loved the Cheerio book and counting caterpillar. But, he has a disgusted look on his face.

Christmas Eve Lunch at Edgemere

What a whirlwind this Christmas was! We kicked off Christmas Eve with lunch at Edgemere with Lane, Grandmommie, Hillary, John and my mom (GG). It was chaotic and loads of fun. Grandmommie's hearing aides were working... yea! So, she was able to join in on much of the conversation. Lane's broken arm is healing. You can see a wrap that she is wearing over a smock to cover up her arm. We spent a little over three hours with everyone. Mom brought the birthday cake for Jesus... a long-standing family tradition.

Later that evening we joined Reni & Joel (GaGa & Poppy) with their family for more food! We feel so lucky to have them as neighbors. Morgan and Zachary (5 years old) opened presents. Morgan got a baby palm pilot and Zachary's gifts have Spiderman all over them. He's into anything as long as it has Spiderman on it.

Santa!

We took Reni's advice and went to the Santa at Bass Pro. Isn't he amazing! I think that we found the best Santa in town! I just love the shot of them looking at each other rather then straight at the camera. Morgan was such a champ. There were no tears. He knows that he is on the "nice" list.

Old Friends in Town for Christmas

I just love Christmas! It seems that so many of our friends come back to town for the holidays. Jeremie, Kristie, Amye and Justin stopped by last night to catch up. Morgan goes to bed around 7:30ish 8ish. Jeremie and Kristie were able to meet Morgan. But, he koncked out before Amye and Justin arrived. Jeremie and Kristie drove through a blizzard to get here and finally arrived at 7am! We were so happy that they took the time to stop by. And, I haven't seen Amye and Justin since their wedding. I need to search for those incriminating photos to email Amye. Hahhahahahaha (insert evil laugh here!)

Morgan's Still Sick!

My poor bee bee Morgan! He's still sick. He's been sick since Sunday. We're hopeful that this clears up before the holidays. Dan and I got our first dose of what many parents talk about when they have sick kiddos. Last night Morgan woke up screaming. He was in pain and there really nothing that we could do. I tried for over an hour to just hold him and make things better for him but nothing would work. At this point I'd been awake for 22 hours because I just couldn't sleep the night before. I decided to bring Morgan in bed with us. I laid him on top of me and that's when the vomiting began. That poor baby just kept throwing up over and over (on me). He was so scared. The incident sent him into another crying spell. We were finally able to get him calmed down an hour later.

I've had 3 friends tell me about the B.R.A.T. diet. They say that it's good to do when kiddos are vomiting or have the "cha chas". Banana, Rice, Applesauce & Toast.

I took him to the doctor this afternoon. Morgan weighs 20 lbs 4 oz. She said that he has a virus and should be well for Christmas. Evidently a virus is only contagious through contact. You can't just get it from being in the same room. You'd have to touch Morgan and then stick your hands in your mouth... or something to that effect. She said that it an adult got it... they'd most likely only be sick for a half day or so. So, to all you moms out there - just wash your hands and you'll be fine. But, I'm going to continue to bow out of all of our fun mom playgroups until after Christmas. This would for sure make all the other kiddos sick. They put EVERYTHING in their mouth. As for dehydration, she said that an infant needs 10 oz of liquid a day to avoid dehydration with a fever and 15 oz a day to avoid dehydration without a fever. Another fun gross baby fact: diarrhea in babies (or the cha chas, as I so lovingly refer to it) typically lasts for two weeks. One week down, one week to go! Yea!

This photo is from a few months ago. Christi would know the exact date. Morgan is on his first swing ride with Wyatt! We are at Central Park. That's Wyatt's mom Christi in the photo.

The Christmas Trains at Northpark!

Morgan and I joined about 6 of our other mommy/baby friends for a day at Northpark Mall to see the Christmas train exhibit. It was CRAZY busy. I had to valet at the mall... which I never do... because I couldn't find a parking space. The place was PACKED! But, Morgan loved the trains. I was not expecting much of a reaction from him. I was so happy that he loved it. So, we'll have to make this a Christmas tradition. I'm looking forward to making lots of family traditions for Morgan. My cousin, Leslie, heard about a great idea from her MOPS group in Denver. You take all of your photo Christmas cards and make laminated placemats for the kiddos. Then, around/after Thanksgiving you just start using them everyday. It's a great way to remember out of town friends and family as well as see how big all of your local friend's children are getting. We're super lucky because Scott owns Laminator Warehouse. So, we're sure to have some great looking placemats!

Morgan at AJ's 1st Birthday party

Morgan's little friend, AJ, turned one! We can't believe that a year has passed already. I was best friends with AJ's parents, Kevin & Amy, when I lived in Denver. We're so glad that they have all recently moved back to Dallas! It will be so awesome to have the boys grow up together... and be in the same grade! AJ's first birthday party was at his grandmother's house. They have a HUGE backyard. This picture is Morgan's first time on a trampoline. He LOVED it! The other little boy in the picture is AJ.

Merry Christmas!

Merry Christmas! Morgan and I went the Gaylord to take Christmas photos. Then, the two of us had a relaxing brunch.
